Bocawina Falls

This morning we decided to take the kids ziplining. When we looked at going through the resort it was going to cost us $115 a person. We decided we could do it cheaper... so we drove out to the zipline place (which was about 8 minutes away)  and we ended up paying $75 a person. Save a little bit of cash. We also wised up and stopped by the local grocery store (which is a trip in and of itself) and picked up a loaf of fresh bread, peanut butter, and guava jam. We also grabbed some cookies and chips...we sure are missing the idea of an apple or something fresh like that.

We got to the zipline place (Bocawina Falls) and checked in, we had a couple go with us who were on their honeymoon... they were fun to be with. Most of the kids loved ziplining. Miles was not a fan... he said it was too scary-but he loved it. (I think this whole vacation is going to be that way for him). We rode on 9 ziplines through the rain forest including the longest one in the country. It was so fun! We took a lot of pictures and got the go pro in on some of the action too.

After ziplining we drove further into the jungle and went and hiked to see the lower falls. The upper had been closed due to the heavy rains they experienced with the tropical storm that hit just days ago. The kids liked the hike, it was very quite...I keep looking for some type of wild animals but have yet to see any.

We got back from Bocawina park and went to eat dinner at the Baracuda Bar and Grill- the couple who were on their honeymoon recommended it. Both Dustin and I got the Bass Snook and it was AMAZING. Hands down the best fish I have eaten- in my whole life. We ate right on the coast watching the waves crash- we enjoyed a somewhat romantic dinner as the kids spend the time playing hot lava on the beach and sinking into the sand. (At this point it was whatever floats your boat). We got back to the resort and started showering the kiddos..I got through 2-1/2 boys when all of a sudden our water went out. I had to take a cup and fill it with our filtered water to finish Miles while Dustin went to the front desk to see what was happening. (Remember we had ziplined, hiked, etc all day so we were NASTY). We waited and waited and eventually they got the water back on about an hour later. That shower felt so nice...and it seems that our Sand Fly friends are starting to leave our bathroom.

Travel Day-

Home again Home again. I think we were ready to get home. We got a late check out on Thursday because our ferry didn't leave until 1pm...
