Shopping and Resort

We are still in Hopkins Bay- this morning we thought we would get it out of the way and let the kids do some souvenirs shopping. We spent the morning walking/driving from vendor to vendor. Hopkins Bay is very 2nd world...almost 3rd world feelish. Dirt roads with pot holes everywhere, families live in 1 room shacks with very little belongings. We stopped at "Art by Alex", this guy has dreads to his waist, shirtless, and carves jewelry from conch shells, and necklaces from any animal teeth he can get his hands on. At one point we got so far down the street that Dustin offered to run back and grab the car (it was a pretty good sized hike) so the kids and I decided to start off in the other direction. You would think I was making them walk across the dessert... they...were...dieing. Inside I was laughing and dieing all at the same time. By the time he showed up I think the kids would have done anything to get in the car (which at this point we names Bessie)

Lunch we wanted to be adventurous and try a local place...we stopped at 3 different places and realized that their sanitation as NOT good. So we opted to eat back at the resort...again. Once we got back to the resort we played on the beach and swam in the pool that overlooks the ocean. Kids loved going back and forth. They also loved the fact that dogs roam all over the resort... nasty.

Dinner was once again amazing- our server's name is Cici and she dotes on the kids at all meals.

After being in the sun all day we went back and showered, put the kids down and just relaxed. We have a 3 room condo over looking the ocean- Halle and Miles share a queen bed with a bathroom, there is a huge kitchen area in the middle and then our bedroom that has a king bed and a futon...Rowe and Bennett are sharing the futon. We did realize that our whole bathroom was covered in Sand Flies (too late)... our legs are all covered in bites. I don't think I have had this many bites since I was like 5... and we have been covered in Deet spray and wipes the whole time.

Travel Day-

Home again Home again. I think we were ready to get home. We got a late check out on Thursday because our ferry didn't leave until 1pm...
